Is Direct Owners an estate agent?
No. Direct Owners Beta is designed as a property discovery and matching platform rather than an estate agency. Users remain responsible for due diligence and transaction decisions. Legal wording requires review before commercial launch.
Are you affiliated with the developer or the government?
No. Direct Owners is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any Forest City developer, or by any Malaysian or Johor government authority. Information provided through Direct Owners is for general informational purposes and does not constitute property, financial or investment advice.
How is Direct Owners different from traditional property portals?
Traditional portals mainly show supply — the listings. Direct Owners also captures and structures real buyer and renter demand, so owners can see who's actually looking for what they have, and seekers get matched to relevant supply, including options that may not be publicly listed.
Does it cost anything?
During Beta, property registration and buyer/renter requirements are free. This answer will be updated if the pricing model changes.
Can overseas owners register?
Yes. Owners can manage their property profile remotely, subject to platform privacy controls.
How do I get in touch with someone I've matched with?
Once you and the other side have both expressed interest in a match, you can start a conversation directly within Direct Owners — no need to exchange contact details or use outside apps. Messages are shown in your own language automatically.
Do you offer any on-the-ground property assistance?
Yes — through Property Assist, we offer practical on-the-ground support, such as property visits, condition checks, and attending viewings or meetings with contractors or tenants on your behalf, on a pay-per-service basis. We currently have fixed dates available each week. Contact us to find out more.
